SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Columbian Year 2024 


GOAL

The goal of the Knights of Columbus Council 6226 Scholarship Program is to provide monetary grants to

Eligible students to help them defray the cost of college and be able to pursue their educational goals.

 

ELIGIBILITY

1)      The Applicant is a child or grandchild of a

member in good standing of Cranford Knights

of Columbus Council 6226, living or deceased.

                             OR

The Applicant is a registered member of Saint

Michael’s Parish of Cranford.

2)      The Applicant is a graduating senior and will be

attending a college or junior college in the fall of

the year that the scholarship application is

submitted.

3)      The Applicant has achieved a high school average

of at least 3.0 as of the end of their junior year.

4)      The Applicant has been accepted into at least one

college or junior college.

6)      THIS IS THE ONLY APPLICATION FORM THAT WILL BE

ACCEPTED AND IT MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE

(No 
other forms of applications will be accepted).
 

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The scholarship application must be completed online

And submitted no later than March 28th, 2024

SELECTION CRITERIA

The selection criterion is divided into three (3) sections.

The three sections are:

        Church/Community Service During High School

(maximum score of 55 points)

List of organizations including a contact person

And phone number for each organization.

a)       Your affiliation if any with the Cranford Knights of Columbus
(not your fathers or grandfathers)

b)      Church Service

c)       Community Service

d)      Extra –curricular activities

2)      High School Academic Record
(maximum score of 25 points)

a)       Transcript through the first semester of Senior year

b)      List of all Honors/ AP Courses taken in 4 years

3)     Interview (maximum of 20 points)

Interviews will be held during the month of April

and will be granted to the top applicants based

on points accumulated in the first two areas of

the Selection Criteria.

As part of the interview process you will be required

to submit an essay (no greater than 2 pages) which

describes how you have lived and how you will

continue to live by the principals of our order; charity,

unity, fraternity and patriotism.
